The Power of Friends and Family...
"What is England like?"
"What do you cherish most about your cultural heritage?"
I am Irish-English. What I like most about the Irish is their warmth, generosity of spirit and sense of humor. The Irish are loved wherever they go. As an English man I am very pleased to share a homeland with the likes of William Shakespeare, Isaac Newton and Charles Darwin. England is a nation with a long and storied history. They say our finest hour was World War 2 when we took a stand against the forces of fascism. There are many reasons why we prevailed. These include inspirational leadership from Winston Churchill, gifted intelligence that led to the cracking of enemy codes, superior application of science such as radar and the heart breaking bravery and sacrifice of the men and women of the Royal Air Force. Ultimately however it was our friends and family that saved us all. The English speaking nations of the world (and many others besides) heard our call and came to our aid. And so what I cherish most about my cultural heritage is the power of friends and family.
