MY ENGLAND šŸ“󠁧󠁢󠁄󠁮󠁧ó æ

Endless Love For British Culture...

"What is England like?"

England is a wonderful mixture of new and modern, old and ancient. When I was participating in my student orientation for the University of Hull, my advisor took me to a crowded local pub where Oasis and Pulp were on auto-repeat on the stereo and where the doorways were so low even I had to duck my headā€”people werenā€™t very tall in the 1400s, when the building was constructed. England has been inhabited for over 750,000 years, and although my people left and came to what is now the United States, England still feels very much like home to me. Also, it doesnā€™t rain as much in England as people think, and you can get amazing Indian and Chinese food along with fish and chips.

"What do you cherish most about your cultural heritage?"

I love British culture: the dry sense of humor, the love of sport, the music, Kate Middletonā€™s fashion sense. I love the Beatles, I love Duran Duran, I love Brit Pop, all things that are quintessentially English. Both of my parents are English and Scandinavian, and I cherish the fact that I look like both of them. My mom has typical fair English skin, and my dad has blue eyes and is dark blonde, which is common in Denmark and Sweden. I am also proud of Englandā€™s amazing literary heritage and have been known to read a play or two by the Bard!
